Memphis Porta Potty Rental

Our Memphis service area is the whole of Shelby County, not just the city limits. Our local crews handle delivery and weekly servicing, from the first drop-off to the last pickup. Call or chat with us to confirm your address.

The City of Memphis lists 14 planning districts, and we deliver to every one: Frayser, Raleigh, Cordova, East, Lamar, Jackson, North, Core City, University, Southeast, Parkway Village, Whitehaven, Westwood and South. See all service areas for our other cities.

Tom Lee Park on the Memphis riverfront covers 31 acres, and its 15,000 square foot Sunset Canopy hosts concerts and festivals. The park also hosts the Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest. Ask us about event porta potty rental for festivals at Tom Lee Park.

Crowds gather at other Memphis venues too. These Memphis venues include:

• Mud Island River Park, with a large south field and a tree grove used for events of many sizes
• Beale Street, where the calendar includes the Memphis Holiday Parade, Hot Rods on Beale and the International Blues Challenge
• Overton Park in Midtown, with about 1.2 million visitors a year, and the Levitt Shell concert venue at 1928 Poplar Avenue
• Shelby Farms Park, with 4,500 acres of indoor and outdoor event space
• Agricenter International, a 1,000-acre campus with an Expo Center and ShowPlace Arena
• Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, home of the University of Memphis

For planning, the Portable Sanitation Association International (PSAI) special events standard sets a minimum by guests and hours. A 500-guest, 4-hour festival needs 5 units, and 1,000 guests over the same 4 hours need 8. PSAI adds 20 to 30 percent when alcohol is served or the temperature is 80F or higher, so a hot day at Tom Lee Park needs more.

Under the 2010 ADA Standards, toilet facilities that are provided must be accessible. Where portable units are clustered at one location, the text says “no more than 5 percent of the toilet units” at each cluster “shall be required” to meet its accessible toilet section, and those units carry the International Symbol of Accessibility. Units provided only for construction personnel on a construction site are exempt.

Federal OSHA sets the Memphis jobsite toilet count under 29 CFR 1926.51: 1 facility for 20 or fewer workers, then 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. At 200 or more workers, the ratio changes to 1 per 50 workers.

Tennessee runs its own state OSHA program, TOSHA, and adopts the federal construction standards in 29 CFR Part 1926 through state rule 0800-01-06-.02. For temporary sites with no sanitary sewer, OSHA requires at least one toilet and allows chemical toilets unless local codes prohibit them. Our weekly servicing covers each unit on a long build.

Shelby County Health Department requires restrooms at any event with permitted temporary food vendors, and it accepts portable restrooms. That makes an event porta potty rental part of the plan for most Memphis festivals with food booths, and it shapes your special event permit planning.

The Shelby County Health Department defines a temporary food establishment as one that runs at a fixed location for no more than 14 consecutive days at an organized event. It also caps temporary permits at two per location and per person or organization in any six months.

Memphis requires a City permit before any work inside the public right-of-way. The City’s explainer says companies must secure that permit before starting work, and the permit covers only the right-of-way. It never mentions portable toilets or a street placement permit for a unit.

The explainer calls the right-of-way city-held land that runs past the roadway and, in many neighborhoods, reaches into areas people think of as private. Memphis enforces its Right-of-Way Regulations and the Unified Development Code there.

The guide lists no application steps, office or fee, so ask the City whether a unit placed in that strip counts as work. Tell us the exact spot when you call, and we will plan delivery around it.
